One of the most practical questions we hear from new clients is: How long does a custom suit actually take?
It is a smart question to ask before you start the process, especially if you have a specific event, deadline, or occasion on the horizon. The answer depends on several factors, but we will give you a clear, honest breakdown of what to expect when you work with Bespoke By CB.
The Short Answer
A custom suit from Bespoke By CB typically takes 4 to 6 weeks from your initial consultation until your suit arrives.
Once the garment arrives, we schedule a final fitting appointment where we review the fit together and complete any small finishing alterations if needed.
This timeline allows for consultation, measurements, fabric selection, construction, delivery, and final refinement, while still maintaining the level of craftsmanship our clients expect.

Why Does a Custom Suit Take A Few Weeks?
Understanding the timeline starts with understanding what goes into making a custom garment.
Unlike off-the-rack clothing that is mass produced and stocked in stores, a custom suit is made specifically for you after your consultation and measurements are taken.
Fabric must be cut, the garment constructed, and the suit completed before it can be delivered for your final fitting.
While the process is efficient, it still requires careful work to ensure the final result fits properly and reflects the design choices you made during your consultation.
The Bespoke By CB Process
Week 1 — Consultation and Measurements
Your first appointment is the foundation of everything that follows. During this session:
• We discuss your lifestyle and how you plan to wear the suit
• We review fabrics from our collection of world-class mills
• You select fabric, lining, buttons, lapel style, and design details
• A full set of body measurements is taken to guide construction
This appointment typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, allowing us to understand exactly what you want your garment to achieve.
Weeks 2–5 — Construction of Your Garment
Once your order is finalized, your suit moves into production.
During this stage:
• Your fabric is cut based on your measurements
• The jacket and trousers are constructed
• Interior canvas and structural components are shaped
• Linings, buttons, and finishing elements are prepared
Over the course of these weeks, your suit gradually takes its final form.
Weeks 4–6 — Suit Arrival
Your finished garment arrives back to our studio.
At this stage, we schedule your final fitting appointment to review the fit together.
Final Fitting — Refinement
During your final fitting we assess the garment on your body and make sure everything looks and feels exactly right.
We review:
• Jacket balance and shoulder fit
• Chest and waist shape
• Sleeve length and jacket length
• Trouser seat, rise, and break
If any minor adjustments are needed, such as sleeve length, trouser hem, or waist refinement, we complete those alterations so the suit fits perfectly.
Most adjustments at this stage are small finishing refinements.
What If I Have a Deadline?
If you have a wedding, event, or business occasion coming up, the most important thing you can do is schedule your consultation early.
Our general recommendations:
Weddings: Begin the process 6–8 weeks before the wedding date
Business events or galas: Allow 4–6 weeks
Gifts or milestone occasions: Schedule as soon as the event is known
Planning ahead ensures the process remains relaxed and allows time for any finishing alterations if necessary.

How Does This Compare to Other Options?
For context:
Off the rack: Available immediately
Made to measure: Typically 4–6 weeks
Custom garments from Bespoke By CB: 4–6 weeks plus final fitting
The difference is not simply about speed, it is about precision and personalization. Each garment is made specifically for the client who ordered it.
Plan Early. Dress Exceptionally.
The clients who enjoy the process the most are those who start early and allow the timeline to work comfortably around their schedule.
They have time to choose fabrics thoughtfully, attend their fitting without pressure, and receive a finished garment ready for their occasion.
If you have an event on the horizon, or simply want clothing built specifically for you, the best time to start is now.
